My journey from being an athlete to dreaming of becoming a doctor wasn’t sparked by a dramatic event, but rather a series of enlightening experiences. In my last year as a track and field athlete, I found myself gravitating towards the sciences and eventually, the medical field. It was during a special program at an acute psychiatric facility where everything clicked for me. I got to work closely with patients and doctors, learning about the intricate dance of medical specialties and the profound impact they have on lives.

One of the most eye-opening moments was seeing a patient recover from severe psychosis, which really showed me how medicine touches lives in the most incredible ways. Chatting with patients, understanding their stories, and seeing the hard work of physicians made me realize this is where I belong.

So here I am, excited and ready to dive into the world of medicine, armed with a passion to make a difference just like those inspiring doctors and patients I’ve met along the way.
